A long while back, I made some flight sticks for Wings of Glory. back when I made them, it was Wings of War. Same game, same fun. Here are some pictures. My sticks are in 2, 4, 6, and 8 inch lengths to be able to put the planes at a height better than the ordinary pegs that came with the game. I now use the pegs as the climb counters.

Level 2 vs Level 4, Very Dramatic.
On His Tail!
I'm always looking for a better way of doing these pegs, or a better, more stable version.
Hey, love the site, particularly your playing mats. I'm interested in the flight sticks. How did you make them? Is there a problem with the planes being top-heavy when mounted on them?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment. I found the sticks are a local model train shop. They are a while plastic tube. The planes can be a little top heavy depending on the height, and the sticks are not quite the same as the fight pegs we get with the planes. I am attempting to re-engineer this idea use a bag of flight sticks that I bought. By super gluing some of these pegs together, it will be a sturdier stick, be the exact same as the flight pegs... and be clear! Also, for the wiehgt issue, I've had to start using washers on the bases to add a bit of weight so that the planes are not as easily toppled over.
